1. Acceptance and scope
By checking the consent box, registering, signing in, or using Mellow Cloud rewriting, you agree to these Terms and the Mellow Privacy Policy. Merely viewing a public webpage does not constitute consent to non-essential data processing. Mandatory rules of an app marketplace or purchase channel also apply.
2. The service
Mellow is a communication, writing, and capture assistant offering speech transcription, text rewriting, Quick Note organization, Arrange extraction, scene templates, a knowledge base, a Share extension, local records, and account quota. Signed-in users may choose to sync the knowledge base across devices. It improves expression, turns spoken thoughts into readable notes, and turns explicit tasks into draft Arrange cards. It does not make commitments for you and is not legal, medical, mental-health, financial, or other professional advice.
Features may vary by operating system, device capability, permission, region, and app version.
3. Accounts and security
Use an email address you are entitled to use and protect your password, verification codes, and devices. You may not share, rent, resell, or use multiple accounts to evade quotas or security controls. Change your password and contact support if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may sign out or permanently delete an account. Account deletion cannot be undone and does not automatically delete local scenes or history from every device.
4. Your input and limited license
You retain your rights in lawful input. To perform a requested transcription, rewrite, Quick Note organization, Arrange extraction, knowledge-base synchronization, copy, or system write, you grant Mellow a limited right to process the necessary text, current Quick Note body, knowledge entries, scene settings, device time, time zone, and technical information. This does not permit Mellow to publish your text or knowledge base or use either for advertising profiles.
You must have the right to submit the input and must not provide another person's private information, protected work, trade secret, or sensitive information without authorization.
5. AI output and disclosure
Mellow Rewrite, Quick Note, and Arrange results are generated with AI assistance and can contain factual mistakes, tone mismatches, omissions, or repetition. Arrange is a draft until you confirm it. Review every result before sending, publishing, signing, writing it to a system, or relying on it.
Mellow labels generated interactions as “AI-generated.” You are responsible for preserving or adding disclosure when required after copying or exporting a result. You must not use Mellow to create unlawful content or conceal a legally required AI disclosure.
When you tap Copy, Share, or another clean-text export, you explicitly request text without an embedded visible label and accept responsibility for later use and disclosure under applicable rules. Without retaining input, output, or audio content, Mellow keeps a salted recipient hash, time, mode, provider, model, and disclosure method for at least six months.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Create or distribute illegal, harmful, fraudulent, infringing, harassing, or discriminatory content;
- Impersonate others, falsify documents, or intentionally mislead people;
- Process credentials, trade secrets, or personal information without authorization;
- Evade quota, access, security, or payment controls;
- Attack, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with Mellow or a service provider;
- Use the service for a regulated activity without required authority.
7. Permissions and cross-app workflows
If Microphone or Speech Recognition is declined, the iPhone and iPad main app still supports text input. The Share extension processes only content you explicitly submit from the system share sheet. Arrange first shows a draft card. Only after you tap a main action such as Add to Calendar, Add to Reminders, or Create Alarm does Mellow request the corresponding permission and write your confirmed content. It does not automatically invite others or read existing calendar events. macOS shortcuts and insertion may require microphone, speech recognition, Accessibility, or input permissions. You may refuse or revoke a permission, but the related feature may stop working. Some third-party apps do not allow direct insertion; Mellow may copy the result and ask you to paste it manually.
8. Free service and quotas
The initial iOS and iPadOS release is free. Guest, account, and Mac quotas are shown in the applicable app. Quotas control cost and abuse and are not guaranteed to remain unchanged forever. Material reductions will receive reasonable notice where practical and will not retroactively remove a clearly purchased, unexpired entitlement.
9. Mac paid access
The Mac edition may offer monthly or annual access or activation codes through the website, Taobao, or another clearly disclosed channel. Unless a purchase page explicitly says it renews automatically, manually granted or code-based access does not auto-renew. Price, duration, and quota are those displayed at purchase.
Do not resell, counterfeit, or reuse activation codes. Contact support promptly if access was assigned to the wrong email address.
10. Apple platform purchases
The current iOS and iPadOS release contains no paid feature or purchase entry. If digital subscriptions are introduced later, they will use Apple in-app purchase and will show price, duration, renewal, cancellation, and benefit details before purchase. Apple processes payment, subscription management, and eligible refund requests under its rules.
11. Cancellation and refunds
Refunds depend on the purchase channel, delivery of digital access, and applicable consumer law. Apple handles refunds for Apple purchases. For another channel, contact support with the order reference, account email, and issue. We will address duplicate, undelivered, or legally refundable purchases. Consumption of activated digital access may affect refund eligibility but does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
12. Intellectual property
Mellow software, trademarks, interface, Milo character, copy, and service technology are protected. Except under an open-source license or mandatory law, you may not copy, sell, rent, modify, or create a derivative service. Mellow does not claim your pre-existing rights in lawful input. Whether AI output qualifies for protection and who owns it may vary by content and jurisdiction.
13. Third-party services
Mellow depends on Apple system capabilities, cloud infrastructure, email, generative AI, payment providers, and app distribution. Their outages or policy changes may affect the service. We choose reasonable providers and seek recovery or alternatives but cannot control every third-party act.
Connecting Notion is optional. Mellow submits a note title and body to Notion only after you authorize it and explicitly save that note. You must also follow Notion's terms and manage created pages there. Disconnecting does not automatically delete pages already created in Notion. When you use the system share sheet for Feishu or another app, you choose the destination and confirm the share in the system interface.
14. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may suspend features for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or product changes and will try to minimize disruption. Accounts involved in serious violations, attacks, fraud, or harm may be restricted or terminated, with an appeal route where appropriate. If a material paid service ends, unfulfilled valid access will be handled as required by law.
15. Disclaimers and liability
Mellow is provided under existing technical conditions. We do not guarantee perfectly accurate AI output, insertion into every third-party app, or uninterrupted availability. You are responsible for the final text you use or send.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, mandatory consumer rights, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise, responsibility is allocated according to fault, causation, and proven loss under applicable law.
16. Children
A user under 14 should use Mellow only with a guardian's guidance and consent. Guardians should explain AI uncertainty, privacy risk, and responsibility for shared content. Contact support if a child's information may have been processed without valid consent.
17. Complaints and infringement notices
For account, privacy, intellectual-property, generated-content, or payment concerns, email support@mellow.halosearch.cn. Provide verifiable rights, relevant content, or an order reference, but never send a password or full payment-card number. We normally provide a progress response within 15 working days.
18. Updates to these Terms
These Terms are versioned. Material changes receive prominent notice in the app or on the website and renewed consent where required. If you do not accept an update, you may stop using the affected service and request account deletion. Existing transactions and responsibilities remain enforceable.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. The parties should first try to resolve a dispute through support. If that fails, either party may use a court or other lawful dispute process with jurisdiction. This does not remove a consumer's statutory choice of remedies.
